Sanja Joly, RMT, started her studies at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy. This was now almost 30 years ago. She spent the first nine years in practice in Vancouver. Hungry for information, she spent her time learning Craniosacral, Neuorstructural Integration, Zero Balancing, and LaStone. Along with movement therapy and exercise through yoga and Pilates. She was first introduced to the “alternative” world of medicine here as well. Sometimes the simplest of injuries seems the most difficult to resolve. But why? These questions brought Naturopathic, Acupuncture, herbs and the idea that thoughts and energies could also influence health and wellness into her practice. She will tell you these were some of the most fulfilling years in her career where most of her practice was working with people who were limited financially to the treatment they could seek. How could you best serve someone and have them feel seen and heard when all you had were six thirty-minute sessions in a calendar year?
Her next few years would be spent in Toronto. Here she would start a family, and this would have her considering things like Touch for Health and fascial work in children to realign structure. The years here would be short and sweet with memories of an exciting city.
Calgary is where she has called home for the last 15 years. The focus here became on raising a family and learning Visceral Therapy. With all the years of practice and accumulated knowledge, she sometimes felt like she had more questions than answers and this is how her studies into Manual Osteopathy became her next challenge. Perhaps it would be best to bring all these modalities back to their founding principles to find the answers. She looks forward to completing this leg of her journey early next spring. Of course, that will most likely lead to more questions…to study more on babies or puppies.
She can't wait to be part of your healing journey at the Mahogany location.
