Melinda Kunyi

Registered Psychologist in Alberta

Melinda

Melinda is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologist. Melinda believes in a holistic approach to therapy and healing. She uses an integrative approach that draws on various therapeutic approaches such as solution focused therapy, CBT, and mindfulness-based interventions. Along with these approaches Melinda uses a trauma-informed lens. Melinda is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which permits her to move beyond traditional talk therapy. EMDR incorporates bilateral stimulations, such as eye movements or taps, to help individuals process traumatic memories more effectively. EMDR can be especially useful for those who have experienced PTSD, anxiety and any other trauma related disorders, along with those who struggle to express their emotions verbally or find it challenging to discuss traumatic experiences directly. Melinda has experience working with many different types of mental health issues and life challenges in the areas of anxiety, depression, PTSD, interpersonal challenges, grief, and life transitions. Melinda believes in tapping in the individual’s strengths and internal resources to facilitate healing and transformation.

Melinda believes strongly in working collaboratively with support systems to promote overall positive well-being.
